A Reno native, Maureen first became interested in alternative medical practices when she was effectively treated for persistent allergies with acupuncture by the late Dr. John Diamond of Reno. In 2001 she earned a Master of Arts in Traditional Chinese Medicine degree with honors from the nationally-recognized Five Branches Institute in Santa Cruz, Calif.

Dr. McKenney is licensed as an Oriental Medicine Doctor (O.M.D.) by the state of Nevada and nationally certified in both acupuncture and Chinese herbology through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

She has been treating a variety of illnesses and conditions with acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, herbal medicines and dietary assistance since 2001.
